Downtown dentist or one near home?

If you change jobs or start working from home more, a practice tied to your commute can quickly become awkward, and treatment that needs several visits is easier to finish somewhere stable. Weekends are the other consideration, because a problem on a Sunday may find you a long way from your own dentist. PPO, HMO and what in network really means

Winter is the season when good intentions about dental care quietly collapse. Snow, ice and wind off the lake make an early appointment much less appealing, and downtown sidewalks can be slow going. Planning around it is easier than rescheduling twice and then forgetting altogether.

Trains and buses generally keep running in bad weather, but journeys take longer, so give yourself a wider margin than you would in summer.
